NVE had to concept, create and produce a fun, engaging, and splashy consumer-facing activation that was top of mind to celebrate and generate buzz for the release of the new FOX reality television show, Stars on Mars. A headline-worthy immersive experience was key to draw in media and captivate a new audience for viewership.
Stars on Mars is the first time space has been mashed-up with celebrity reality TV culture, so with that, we wanted to create that same experience for fans by taking the designs from the hero art and elements from the show stills to create a trendy wine pop-up bar to bring Mars to Los Angeles.
Nothing pairs better with reality TV than a glass of wine, so FOX took over the Scum and Villainy Cantina in Hollywood for a weekend run of The Mars Bar Experience. Over 400 fans were invited to partake in the immersive experience and catch a glimpse inside the Red (Wine) Planet. Guests sampled astronaut charcuterie and sipped on a Space Flight, a curated selection of space-themed wines. FOX also deployed an astronaut street team to journey to 9 hot spots in LA including Runyon Canyon, Kreation, Erewhon, and others. In addition, FOX hosted a celebrity-filled VIP Press Preview before the official opening.
Natasha Leggero, Marshawn Lynch, Ronda Rousey, Tom Schwartz, Tallulah Willis, and Tinashe interacted with press and fans on the 30 ft Mars red carpet prior to entering The Mars Bar.
