F1 fans and drivers alike face sun, heat, crowds and confusion on race weekend at COTA. Welcome to Club Cash App, a high-end health/social club style experience to make your race day as easy and enjoyable as using Cash App.

Challenge

Cash App partnered with NVE to help curate a premium experience and establish a unique presence at the highest class of international racing this October, at the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Austin, TX. Their goal was to stand-out amongst the flurried chaos of big budget, legacy brands and new-age start-ups by unlocking moments and experiences where consumer could feel the magic, joy, and satisfaction of utilizing Cash App as their main Peer to Peer Finance Platform.

Insight

While Millennials like to say they’re in control of their finances, they’re quick to fall for the trap of convenience. F1 Grand Prix Austin is an event that champions control and speed – consumers will feel this impact throughout the weekend, as new costs will inevitably emerge from all corners, removing the sense of financial control. Cash App can be the secret weapon that empowers consumers to make smart money moves and challenge convention by unlocking unique and unexpected experiences for consumers navigating the F1 weekend both in Austin and at the track.

Solution

With Immediate Rewards, Only Cash App, and Shareable Moments as our strategic pillars, NVE introduced ‘Club Cash App,’ a high-end, health/social club and hospitality experience located at Turn 17. Designed to make race days as easy and enjoyable as using Cash App, the 3-Day experience included a welcome moment where guests were greeted with a green juice health shot and ice-cold eucalyptus towel upon arrival. From there, guests could then kick off their shoes and slip into a comfy pair of Cash App x Visa branded cloud slides, before being invited to enjoy one of our select spa experiences. These experiences  included Theragun Massages by the founder of Theragun himself, Vitamin B12 Shots, and a surprise Drag Brunch featuring Symone (winner of Season 13’s Ru Paul’s Drag Race) and DJ set by Zack Bia. From the patio, guests could dive into a branded plush pool where they could watch the race live, while having a dedicated cocktail waitress cater to their every need.

Results

  • The 3-Day experience hosted 100/exclusively invited guests each day, with star-studded appearances on Sunday featuring the likes of Serena Williams, Ashley Graham, Brooklyn Beckham, Sterling Shepherd More. The social imoressions from talent over the weekend garnered 74.9M impressions and 2.9M engagements.
  • Hefty press coverages throughout the weekend, resulting in 530M impressions across 17 media outlets and a +72% positive social brand sentiment ranking.
